The Back Lakes
后湖
Wandering behind Longevity Hill, the water of KunMing Lake forms the 'Back Lake' (HouHu). Visitors can reach here from near suzhou street, by passing the Marble Boat towards the (north) east, or by heading north west from the east gate, passing the Garden of Harmonious Interests. With fewer buildings north of the Summer Palace, the landscape surrounding the Back Lakes is secluded and elegant. Exuberantly green forests and twisting paths provide a unique natural beauty, rather like a valley.
在万寿山后流淌的是后湖，昆明湖的水就是从后湖流过来。游客可以穿过清宴舫朝东北方向走就可以到那，或者从北门向西走。它在颐和园的北面没有太多的建筑物，周边景观环绕着湖水幽静典雅，茂密的绿树森林和曲折的小路构成了独特的自然风光，更像一个峡谷。
