YuanMingYuan Garden

YuanMingYuan, 'Garden of Perfection and Brightness', was the largest of the three original gardens and lies in the north-west. The majority of this park is currently under renovation but the eastern side centered on the largest lake, FuHai ('Sea of Happiness'), is open.

Don't forget to explore the waterways to the east and south of FuHai.

Around FuHai lake in particular you will notice the foundations, some repaired and some still in ruins, of the halls and pavilions that once stood there.
